While preparing for a class I came across a quote for the first time, but wished I could have learned its truth a lot earlier in my life. The quote was by Mother Teresa and says, “You can do what I cannot do. I can do what you cannot do. Together we can do great things.”
What do you stand for?
One of my students told me this quote, “If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything.” I concur with this statement. I always love how God aligns my classes for lessons I need to learn. I was teaching a class on Corporate Social Responsibility and learned that a corporation's social responsibility comes down to one thing, what are the values it stands for. Moreover, I believe this is true of every individual.
Do you work with toxic people?
Are You Juggling Elephants?
I have to say that I borrowed this title from a book I read. In it I read about how to juggle the many different roles and responsibilities in my life. The book began by saying “Life is like a three ring circus, and to try and do it all is like juggling elephants.” Never were truer words spoken. But it doesn’t keep me from trying. I do wish I could stop and learn to do more with less.
